Same message: two audiences

We're getting ready to launch the new PureSex series at GCC. Can you feel the buzz and anticipation in the air? [darn it, my blog's gonna get quarantined in adult content filters now that I've said sex...]

We're experimenting with something new (for us); purchasing four billboards in high traffic locations for our target area [as well as cinema advertising with the same image]. The only copy on the billboards is this URL: mylamesexlife.com. And, the only promotions for that URL is: the billboards [and cinema advertising].

We had to create a landing page for the new people who find us online exclusively because of the billboard/cinema advertising. It's a different audience than the people who find us online from other promotions and/or already attend our church.

So, we intentionally took a step back, re-evaluated how we communicate the same information to these two different audiences and customized a new landing page to fit.

  • Current Series page for normal audience and/or members
    BEFORE (informational bent)
  • Current Series page for audience from billboard/cinema advertising
    AFTER (inspirational bent)

Don't worry--my filtering software let me read your blog. Couldn't access the mylamesexlife.com ad, though. Ah, well.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THIS BULLETIN BOARD. I FEEL CHURCHES SHOULD WANT TO HAVE SERMONS ON HUMAN SEXUALITY.

That is SO GREAT. We are about to launch an outdoor ad campaign and related website for our Easter services. Great to know I'm following in the footsteps of the master! :-)

What an excellent idea! The domain name and billboard placement are bound to attract some great traffic. I'm sure with the URL you can also track the effectiveness of those billboards. God bless! --Cory
