In 2001, the City of Atlanta asked Joe Peragine to create a permanent installation for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. He created Brute Neighbors, a display of large red ants all over both terminals of the airport. That same year Art in America called Brute Neighbors one of the best public art projects in the city.
