I've had a few questions about the minimalistic approach to our volunteer expo experience. Why do we choose to cut out information? Why do we condense 50+ teams into 8 categories? Why don't we provide a way for people to select from all of the individual roles available?
Because, in modern society people are busy and life is hard. They've got too much information bombarding them from everywhere (not just one hour on Sunday) and never enough time. But, they're still looking for answers that make a real difference in their life. Being part of something bigger than yourself makes a difference. And, people experience that life change one step at a time. The value we provide grows in direct proportion to how easily people can find and say yes to their next step.
Keep up these kind of post. Learning to communicate more with less is SOOO freakin hard!!!

This is uber-fantastic and fits into the mantra my ministry is striving for: "LESS IS MORE!!!!"

Ah, never mind. I saw the other categories are still there. Love the simplification. Was just confused why some categories seemed to be missing from your first picture...

That makes complete sense. We need to narrow. But I'm a little confused. Why remove things like children's programming and hope/support? It seems like the only things left appeal to those who are more task oriented and less people oriented. I'd think some people wouldn't find a passion on the new sheet. Does it all fit under community impact now?
Just curious. Thanks!
