Just got back from some much needed R&R with my husband and close friends. Left the precious children at home. Good times. Good times. People have been asking me about it... here are a few highlights...
- Restraining myself from a complete FREAK OUT as I watched my husband get refused entry at Aruba arrival gate after 13 hours of travel because he lost his ID on the last leg of the trip. Immigration wouldn't let him on the island and booked him on the next flight back to the states.
- Watching my friends take control in the crisis to find new friends to pull strings and override the immigration supervisor's power trip. Mark got on the island and didn't have to go home.
- The lizards and iguanas. Man, they are everywhere. Running around like ants. Loved watching the lizards. Nobody else appreciated them. They all made fun of me.
- Winning $100 at the roulette table my first time (and first 10 minutes) in a casino. I immediately cashed out and went and bought myself a new swim suit.
- Recreating an ocean scene from Charlie's Angels with our digital camera. Hilarious.
- Seeing a 60 year old woman in a thong and realizing that I don't look so bad.
- Forgetting words like budget, alarm clock and deadline for one week.
- Watching my husband and his "executive" buddies act like they were in high school.
- Finding the time to learn two cool new functions on my camera.
- Pressing into life-giving relationships with my husband and friends with no distractions.
